Melbourne Airport Drop-Off & Chauffeur Pick-Up Changes from 6 October 2026
From Tuesday 6 October 2026, Melbourne Airport will introduce new drop-off and chauffeur pick-up arrangements for passengers using Terminal 1 (Qantas Domestic), Terminal 2 (International) and Terminal 3 (Virgin Domestic).
These changes form part of Melbourne Airport’s new T123 Transport Hub.
Changes to Drop-Offs
Passengers travelling from Terminals 1, 2 & 3 will no longer be dropped directly outside the terminal doors.
Instead, drop-offs will take place at the new Level 3 drop-off area within the T123 Transport Hub, with passengers then walking across to their terminal.
Because of this additional walk, at The Melbourne Chauffeur by Rophael, we recommend allowing an extra 15 minutes when planning your airport transfer.
For example, if you would normally aim to arrive at Melbourne Airport at 7:00am, we recommend planning to arrive at the new drop-off area by approximately 6:45am.
Changes to Chauffeur Pick-Ups
There is also a new dedicated location for chauffeur and hire car operators.
From 6 October, the designated VHA Chauffeur Parking Area will move to Level 2 of the T123 Car Park, within the new pre-booked transport area.
Our chauffeurs will continue to monitor your flight and coordinate your collection as usual.
What You Need to Know
From 6 October 2026:
T1, T2 and T3 drop-offs will move to Level 3 of the T123 Transport Hub.
Passengers will need to walk from the drop-off area to the terminals.
We recommend allowing an additional 15 minutes for your departure transfer.
Chauffeur pick-ups will use the new dedicated VHA Chauffeur Parking Area on Level 2.
Terminal 4 arrangements remain unchanged.
Our chauffeurs will be familiar with the new access routes and airport arrangements ahead of the change, ensuring your journey remains as smooth and seamless as possible.
